832!

I just looked and I have 832 hits at this site. That's almost a thousand, and probably only 500 are from me! If we all try real hard and go here as much as possible I bet I can hit 1,000 by 2009. Hopefully this means:

-People are reading my comic strip.
-They are coming to the site and reading it when they miss it in the paper
-I am not wasting my time drawing comics that only I am reading

So thanks to you, if you are part of that 832.

Dear Reader,

I am entering a cartoon contest and I need YOUR help!




It's the "Charles Schulz" award and the prize is $10,000. Besides the face that I want ten thousand dollars, I also need to win this award to boost my fragile ego. So here's where you come in, you handsome devil: the contest requires I send in 10-20 examples of how great my comic is. So if you love me, and you have some free time, take some time and look through all the comics from this year and last year and take note of up to 20 that you think would knock the judges' socks off. Then write which ones you like in the comments section or e-mail me at IanSkylerBrown@yahoo.com.

If you do this entirely tedious and uninteresting task I will give you a nice prize, I just don't know what yet. I'll draw you a picture of anything you want, or buy you a king-sized Snickers (I would take the Snickers). Even if you don't want to find twenty, just telling me your favorite one or two is extremely helpful.

Comic today was a rerun, but tomorrow's is a return to expected hilarity. Also notice that I'm slightly changing how I do the letters.

And something else not for the newspaper

This is a really old comic I did a couple years ago. Since there's nothing new this week it seems like a good opportunity to post older junk that I can look back on and be embarrassed by. The art may suck in this comic, but I have to say I'm pretty good at drawing grass.

Thanksgiving comics

No real comics this week because of the break but I do have some random junk I've been meaning to put up. The first thing is a drawing I did for a Colts website I like. The second is some sketches I did for an archeology comic project I'm working on and the last two are some drawings of NBA players.

This is the comic I did for the highly regarded literary zine Wolf Boy, edited by my friend and trivia team colleague David Gilbert, a prince of a man. I also did the cover, which I've posted before but will post again, just for the heck of it.

Comic for tomorrow and an illustration I did for some story about scientists and businessman.

Well that sucked. Colts lost, of course. God-fucking-dammit. Here's your comic you ugly assholes.

Nothing new this week because I've been re-running the Robot Jr strips. The zine I did the cover for is out. It's called Wolf Boy and it's sweet. I also have a short comic about the Colts, so that's cool. More info can be found at www.wolfboy.org.
